I love, love, love when a fantasy book has a map at the front.  It instantly transports me into that world.  Then again, I love maps in general.  One of my favorite parts about planning a trip is scrolling around on Google Maps to see where we’re going.  Maybe I should be a cartographer.

Anyways, I’ve been trying to put together a fantasy map for my new book.  Here’s what I have so far.  Consider this the first draft.

Map2 2

All the creatures and places labeled play a role in the story.  It’s not that great of a map, to be honest.  I got the idea from my brother in law, when he shared this picture on Facebook.

Is that not one of the coolest things you’ve ever seen.  It is to me anyways.  I should pay this guy to do a map for me with the creatures that are in my book.

  1. The Mall of America jumped out at me.

    • The story I’m working on involves Mother Nature getting kidnapped and her sons, Roscoe Bunyan and Paul Bunyan have to rescue her from The Mall of America.
